Sculpture Gallery
Martin has created countless sculptures over the years, though sadly, he didn’t photograph all of them. However, he began documenting his work as a teenager, and here is a collection of some of his earlier pieces.
Many of these sculptures were made during his teenage years and, while they aren’t available for sale, it's a pleasure for him to share them with you.
This gallery offers a glimpse into the diverse range of subjects Martin has sculpted over the years, and he hopes it provides both inspiration and insight into his artistic journey.

Abstract Horse Sculpture
Martin sculpted this stunning horse sculpture using polymer clay and painted it with spray paints to achieve a bronze-like finish. He also crafted the plinth himself, using believe it or not - the bottom of a Tupperware box as a mould. Martin cast the plinth with plaster polymer, then carefully sanded it smooth before painting it with spray paint to complete the piece.

Artificial Bonsai Tree
Martin created this artificial Bonsai tree by using a real piece of driftwood for the core. He then sculpted the basic shape of the trunk with Plasticine and added real pieces of bark, carefully gluing them on to create a highly realistic effect. The trunk was then molded and cast in plaster, followed by detailed painting with acrylics. The branches were wired into place, and Milliput was sculpted onto the wire to form the branches. The foliage, artificial moss, and the real ceramic Bonsai pot were purchased to complete this stunning piece.

Cat and Dog from Creature Comforts
Martin recreated the cat and dog from Creature Comforts when he was just a teenager, sculpting them out of Plasticine. During this time, he also created animation videos and sent them to Aardman Animations for feedback. His dedication paid off when he landed work experience there at the age of 17, and soon after, he secured his first job as an assistant animator on Creature Comforts series 2. Martin’s journey continued with his work on Creature Comforts USA. Read Martin's Bio for more information about his career.

Ginger from Chicken Run
Martin recreated Ginger from his personal favorite Aardman feature film - Chicken Run entirely out of Plasticine. He used a black marker pen to add the small black lines on the feathers, while layering different colors of Plasticine on top of each other, blending some with his fingers to achieve a smooth, blended look. The eyes were made from a type of bake-able clay.

Gromit Sculpture

Wallace Sculpture
Where there's Gromit, there must be Wallace! Martin sculpted this recreation of Wallace entirely out of Plasticine many years ago. Just like with some of his other sculptures, the eyes were crafted from a bake-able type of clay to give them that perfect, finishing touch.

T-rex Sculpture
Martin sculpted this piece entirely out of Plasticine, with the surprisingly creative choice of using the bottom of a Ferrero Rocher container as the base. Not bad for a teenager! Stegosaurus Sculpture
This dinosaur was also sculpted entirely out of Plasticine. While it’s a solid effort from Martin’s younger self, the Brachiosaurus sculpture he created a few years ago truly showcases his current skill level. Lara Croft Sculpture
This recreation was also sculpted entirely out of Plasticine. Martin started working on a new version of Lara some time ago, but due to time constraints, it had to be put on the back burner, like many of his sculpting projects. It will be interesting to see how much better the new version turns out compared to this earlier attempt when he finally gets around to finishing it.

Donkey for Creature Comforts series 2
This is a donkey Martin made while on work experience at Aardman Animations. It was intended to be used in the foreground of a set. Before this one, he created another donkey for the background, which impressed the team so much that they allowed him to make this one too. It was during this work experience that the producer of the show offered Martin his first professional job in the animation industry.
